Carly Blum

Associate Event Manager

Carly Blum joined the Major Cities Chiefs Association as an Associate Events Manager, bringing her expertise in event planning and coordination to support the organization’s mission of enhancing public safety and leadership development. Carly plays a key role in organizing MCCA’s conferences, meetings, and special events, ensuring seamless execution and impactful experiences for attendees.

Carly brings a strong background in event planning and project coordination, having previously worked in event management in the leadership development space during her time at The Arbinger Institute. She has also spent time in the nonprofit sector working in areas spanning everywhere from domestic violence intervention to education for Burmese refugees in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Her expertise includes project management, logistical planning, and stakeholder engagement, which she leverages to enhance the impact of MCCA’s events.

Carly holds a BA in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, where she spent a semester in Australia and New Zealand with a cohort completing comparative studies on criminal justice systems. She holds a certification in Restorative Justice from the IIRP, and has long been passionate about improving the criminal justice system. Carly is based in the Baltimore area.
